Ended up befriending myself

I was playing with add a friend option and somehow ended up sending friends request to myself. I did reject the request. But somehow ended up with a "+" next to my user name, which means I am my own friend.

Anybody ever came across an issue like that?

What is the way to get the "+" removed?
