This hack sends a notify to all users (and thread starter) who have replied before when there is a new reply on that thread.


Installation:

• Download and extract the attachment product-notifications.zip
• Upload folder notifications to your forum root folder.
• Import the XML file product-notifications.xml into vB using the ACP Product Manager.

What am I missing here?

This is a standard feature in vBulletin, unless the user opts to NOT receive notifications. Members subscribe to threads they want to follow and I have my forums set so that the default is to subscribe a member to a thread if s/he replies. Why would anyone need this add-on?

Not sure what this mod does? It creates notification when there's a new post in subscribed thread to all subscribers?

Yes it works for 4.2.X

I created this mod over 2 years ago for my members who didnt subscribe to a thread, but for users who replied to that thread- get a notification in "dropdown area" when there's a new post/reply.
My original mod also sends a notification for new photos comments, group comments, etc...

It creates a notification when there is a new post for those who replied before.

Example, you replied to this thread before me, so now I reply here, you and 4 others (gwerzal, ZUCCO, djbaxter, Alan_SP) will have a notification in dropdown "1 New Notification".

Do you plan to expand number of notifications? I mean, their types?

Yes, my original mod has new notifications for pictures comments/group comments/or a notification for the poster if his/her post has been edited by someone else ( a moderator). (and more)
