I'm not sure why I posted this in the Private Coders area. Force of habit, I guess.

I've inserted a custom field into the User CP via a plugin, but I was under the impression once I got the field inserted in the proper area, with all the unique IDs and labels and such, that was the end of it. I could then use the field ID and put the output where I wanted. However, it doesn't save like I thought it would; like a traditionally made custom field would. It submits, and then text area is left blank. What could I have left out?
