Embedding Video into forum display page
 

Hi All

I have been looking around for a descent video player so that I can embed my own videos into my board and have the videos on my own server. I don't want to host the videos on a 3rd party site and link across to them i.e youtube!

I would also like to embed the video into the forum display page as more of an introduction video for the forum topic.

How does one go about inserting the video and how would I be able to insert a different video per forum topic?

Has anyone done anything like this before?

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

There is a lot of decisions you will have to make on this, right now you just need a place to start. I would go grab a copy of 'jwPlayer', I think it is still free for a non-commercial board. There are tons of documentation for it and a good place to go gain some knowledge.

You will have plenty more questions, but at least you will have a basic vocabulary in order to express them.

I ended up using jsvideo and managed to put it in a custom home page :) will keep working on the display pages of my threads.
