Allow specific usergroups to add members to?

Hello!

I apologise if this is already possible, or a thread already exists, I couldnt see anything that exactly described what I'm after.

Ok so alot of our website is made up from Clans and Regiments for a gaming community. Whilst I know there is groups section for Vbulletin, but correct if im wrong but the discussions here, do not appear as forum threads?.

So what we are using is forums for the clans and regiments that are hidden to members not inside the clans usergroup. Its working fine but we require the clan leaders to fill out a form that lets us know what members to add or remove, then we manually add the users to that usergroup. So my question.. is there a way or a mod, that could allow a specific user or usergroup to add other members to the usergroup of our choice?

There's a way around it. Make the clan groups publicly joinable (usergroup option) and set the clan leader(s) as the group leaders. This means that any member will be able to apply to join and the clan leader(s) will be able to grant admission to the clan.

Do the group system plus forums hidden to specific usergroups actually tie together though? Ie: The "Post new discussion" that I see under the group pages appear to be on that actual group page and doesnt relocate to any forum thread or area that I could hide from non members..

Not social groups, usergroups.

Ah this is exactly what I wanted! Thanks so much! I thought making it public just meant that anyone could join without approval.. but now I see that once you add the usergroup leader, it automatically becomes moderated (people joining etc)..

Thanks again!
