How can I change the url of my forum?
 

My forum's url structure is like this:
http://www.example.com/forum/
http://www.example.com/forum/forumdisplay.php...
http://www.example.com/forum/showthread.php...

It was 3.7.3, patched to 3.8.7 PL1

I want to change it to:
http://www.example.com/
http://www.example.com/forumdisplay.php...
http://www.example.com/showthread.php...

How can I do this?

Take all files out of the folder called forum then change the url in your options update all posts that have the old url (yes this will take time) update attactment to the new location if saved in filesystem once all this is done weeks done the line then you can delete the forum folder in your ftp

Is it possible to do this via htaccess?
