A little challenge

Was looking to see if one of the fine coders here would tackle this little challenge :)

Ive been looking without any luck a mod that could MASS move soft deleted posts to a desired thread in the forum.

When banning a user and soft deleting all their posts they stay in te same place but minimized, it makes threads look awful and cluttered. moving 19k soft deleted posts aint a task i want to do "manually" ..

What do you all say? take the challenge?

Thanks as usual :)

Since you can shut off the reporting of soft-deleted messages, the average user on your board should not have to see them. I know this does not solve your explicit problem, but it does solve the problem for most boards. If that method does not work you could additionally alter the templates to adjust the reporting to your own needs.

In my opinion you are just asking for corruption problems, moving posts around when it is not absolutely necessary.

Just in case you weren't aware of it...
Usergroup Manager -> Forum Viewing Permissions-> Can See Deletion Notices: NO

Something to think about... I hope it helps :)

The question I have is if the user is banned, it would seem you don't want their posts on the board at all. So why soft delete them? I'd permanently delete them.

You are correct that is a good option. Thanks for the heads up.

Simple, if users ask why they are banned you can look for the posts and show them. Also we have a vip service. If a user is perm ban only way back is purchasing a package. If i hard delete all their posts upon ban and the become vip, theyll start from scratch, and its not an option I want :)
