[OzzModz] Log Selected Members Login/Logout IP

Another mod brought to you by,
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2015/01/1.png

Here is a small modification you can use to log selected users or usergroups IP's when they login or log out of your site.

Q. Why do I need such a thing, you ask?

A. Sometimes members, or you and your staff, feel their accounts are being compromised and without the hacker posting etc, no IP's are logged and there is no proof. Now you will have a log for such a thing. Also it was requested by, Loget, here Log IP addresses.

It is a simple installation, upload the file, ozzmodz_log_login.log, in the UPLOAD folder, to your forum root, then import the product XML, product-ozzmodz_log_login_ip

You can edit the options under the settings, OzzModz: Log Login/Logout IP Settings

Complete Feature List
  • Option to disable the mod completely.
  • Option to change the name of the file, so you can make it unique to your site, keeps it out of prying eyes.
  • Option to set which userid's to log.
  • Option to set which usergroups to log.

What does 'Marking As Installed' do ?

* It helps you to stay on top of updates - members who have installed modifications will be notified whenever new updates are available.

* For security issues - vbulletin.org will contact all members who have installed a modification whenever a security issue is brought to their attention.

* Marking a modification as installed also helps me know how many people are using my work, giving me extra incentive to provide more features and new modifications.

I appreciate the support!

Awesome! Though this would be really useful if it logs by usergroup(s) as well. Easier to set than setting it per userID.

ozzy47 10-20-2013 10:35 AM

So you think their is a whole usergroup that may be compromised?

Skyrider 10-20-2013 10:37 AM

Oh, no. There's a forum that I manage that often has people that attempts to scam other people (real money). It's Team Fortress 2 related. The more systems we have in place that logs IP's, shared account information, etc, the better. This would be a good system to have in place as well with the additional logging systems we have already.

Ok give me a bit, it should be a simple addition. I should have it done some time today.

Skyrider 10-20-2013 10:41 AM

Thanks, appreciate it.

Done. v1.1.0 Added logging of usergroups ability.

Remember to mark as installed if you are using the mod. :)

Installed, though out of curiosity. Isn't ozzmodz_log_login.log viewable for all if installed in root? I just tried it, and it just downloaded the *.txt file, of which anyone can download. Bit of a security risk. Can't the logs be placed under the AdminCP logs like other log statistics?

ozzy47 10-20-2013 11:07 AM

That is why you have the ability to rename it, the people would have to know the name of the file in order to see it.

ozzy47 10-20-2013 11:34 AM

So you can move the file into your admincp folder, then in the setting use this.

Code:

admincp/ozzmodz_log_login.log
