How to set specific threads to list first based on usergroup

What I'm trying to do is have paid subscribers marketplace (for sale) threads come up first, then regular member threads. Then, once closed and finished, that thread goes back in the mix like normal. Thank you in advance

And how is a thread marked as For Sale? Is it a prefix? And what page are you wanting them to show up first - in a forum? In search? There really isn't enough information given to make a suggestion.

There are currently prefixes for various thread types, such as For Sale, For Trade, Wanted, etc. And I want the threads to come up above all others in the 'marketplace' subforum: http://www.boostedk20.com/forums/for...Parts-For-Sale

Why not just stickie them?

It's not going to be an easy change. You will need to actually modify the query on the page to do this.

Simple enough. I don't remember, but is there a way to give each VIP member the power to stick and unstick their own threads? I think there is, I need to go tinker.

If it's doable, I'm all for it.
Side note: From the homr forum page view, there are many categories. Is there a way I can change a specific category 'header' background color and leave the other categories the same color?
