Can't Run upgrade script via Admin CP ..Why ??

Good Evening folks,

I am running vbulletin 4.2.1 on my forum but wnted to upgrade to the new released vbulletin 4.2.2. I download the files from the members area and upload them to the root directory. also iI have delete the install folder.. Now when I go back to te admin panel and run the upgrade script ..it redirect me to the activity page.

Is there something wrong ? how can I proceed with the "upgrade"

Thanks in advance for the help !

Leave the install folder in place, run the script, then delete.

You can't run the upgrade script without the install directory. That's what it's for. You also don't need access to your Admin Panel during an upgrade.

The 'Admin Control Panel' does not require the use of the 'install' directory.

Yes I know that but I need the "install" directory to upgrade ..If i have it in the root dir I can't access the admin panel unless i remove it..

If the install directory is in place, you run the upgrade script by pasting this in your browser.

Code:

http://www.yourdomain.com/pathtoforums/install/upgrade.php

Re-upload your install directory and then in your browser point to:

Code:

    http://... your forum ... /install/upgrade.php
