Permissions Images
Hi
What folders require CHMOD permission for Avatars, Uploads, Pictures, Attachments Etc.. vB manual doesn't state! |
A good idea is to set them all to 777 including the index.html file inside them.
|
Thanks for the reply, but can you tell me the exact folders.
|
No need to set the index file to 777 only the folders

The dirs would be: signaturepics customavatars customprofilepics You have to create Uploads, Pictures, Attachments of your own and CHMOD the same. |
If I upload a pic via URL but choose to reference locally it 'fails to write'
However I can upload attachments etc fine. |
aah.. now then, you are most likely using photopost vbgallery?.. if you are don't use reference locally it never works.
I would download the picture first. |
No bud, generally if you add a image in a post from a URL.

I have the same issue, you have a choice to insert the image from the URL or to copy the image to your server and reference locally (check box for that - checked by default) - what is happening is that it comes back with an error stating that it is unable to write a temporary file.
If I knew WHERE it was trying to write the file I could check and see if that directory existed and what the permissions were on it. Anyone know??? |
