Very strange problem
Having a VERY strange issue on our forum. So strange that I don't think anyone is going to know how to solve it but here goes...
Our forum just opened up a few days ago. Yesterday we got swamped with new members and the forum was VERY slow. Took around 3 - 4 minutes just to post something. So I contacted my host and they did something and now it's running pretty good. Here's where it get's weird. Now every time someone posts a message on the forum you get the notice that you get when you normally post a thread. The normal notice when you post a message is something like "Thank you for posting. We'll send you back to the forum". When you post a new thread it says "Thanks for posting a new thread. If you opted to add a poll you will be sent there." Well that's the notice that we get when someone posts a post now - the ..."if you opted to add a poll..." message. How can we fix this? Members are finding it very confusing. |
Do you have any mods installed that deal with polls?
Yes, I have 'unvote' and 'must vote to post' but they were installed before and the forum never acted this way.
I just want to know - what happened to Bubble #1-4?
They burst'd.....
I would still disable that mod and see if the issue is still there, just to eliminate any possibility's.
Did you try asking your host what they did to make the forum faster? Perhaps they enabled some sort of caching that could be causing this issue?
