Making a variable available in a different template?

How can I have the variable "{vb:raw previewimage}" be available in template vbcms_page? AKA, how can I get the previewimage URL of the article I'm currently viewing on vbcms_page?

If you can find where it is defined, then you can see if there is a plugin there and then just preregister it for use in the other template.
