Background change

Where do we change the background for 4.2.1? We tried using the style editor but can't find the right section for the main background.

We heard that removing the vB version number makes it harder on hackers to cause trouble with your forum.

Is there a tutorial that shows how to do this? I'd rather it said Powered by vBuletin than Powered by vBuletin version x.x.x.

Try the stylevar doc_background or body_background under the group Global.

Yes you are allowed to remove the version number. The "Powered By..." and Copyright must remain.

In ACP -> Phrase Manager, edit the GLOBAL Phrase: powered_by_vbulletin

Copy it to an English (or any other language) translation and remove the text: Version {1}

And re-save the phrase.

Thanks Ozzy, it was doc_background I think, but when I go to save it, it reverts back to the old one :eek:

Could some kind of css be controling it?

No it should save the updated info no problem.

Yeah that will work, but IMO it is better to edit the phrase, that way you don't need another mod installed to do it. :)
