Unable to load pics with IE

Totally stumped with this one....

Overnight Internet explorer decided that it no longer wants to upload pictures.

In Basic mode you have no way to select the files, the option is no longer there.
In Advanced mode you can select the file but on clicking upload it locks up IE.

I have tried this on various pc's and with different versions of IE.

Chrome and Firefox all work as normal.

Any Clues???

I have 4.2.1 all up to date with the latest fix etc.

It it a Java issue?
