Anonymous World of Warcraft Armory profiles
 

I'm the owner of EpicNPC, a trading forum and marketplace for World of Warcraft and various other online games. This mod was created to allow members to post their World of Warcraft profiles anonymously and directly onto the forum without having to leave the site.


What does the addon do?

The WoW Armory tool adds a check box for New Threads and Quick Replies which then expands to allow members to enter their account username and server name. Once the member creates the post, the addon automatically does two things.

1) It creates a full WoW armory profile on EpicWoWArmory.com
2) It creates a preview of that armory directly on the forums displaying the following info:

• Level, Race, Class
• Achievement points
• Average Item Level
• Battleground rating
• # of pets collected
• # of mounts collected
• Profession #1 level
• Profession #2 level

The Armory preview is displayed at the bottom of the post and includes a link to the full WoW Armory profile at EpicWoWArmory if people want to see more details about the account.

The addon also uses auto-fill for the server names to make it easier for members to find their server.


Installation

1) Download the file
2) Go to Product/Plugin installation in VB Admin and upload the file

That's it.


Options

Currently the addon allows you to select what forums you want to turn this addon on/off for. Simply enter the forum ID number into the field.


When creating a new post using the WoW armory tool, the post creation time will increase to about 4-5 seconds because the Armory Profile must first be generated. The WoW API takes a few seconds to send the info and for EpicWOWArmory to generate the profile. Unfortunately there is no way to speed this up.

Open to suggestions for other stats you'd like to be included in the preview or for other functions.
