anyone know which hack i might have messed up which would cause me to get the "someone has replied to your post..." even for posts i didn't start or ever post to?

Yeah, the one that's in your profile. There is a box that says "Receive email Notification...". Turn it off.

i have - i recieve emails for posts i've never posted to. it's kinda random though - i get emails about posts other people start and other people post to.
