Mark post as read

Hi,

Currently, whenever i create a new post in a thread, that tread will be marked as "Unread". Is there a way to mark the thread as "Read"? Since i've created the post i know what i wrote in it so it should be marked as "Read". This is very confusing because i can't know if a new post has come or its because i've made a new post.
