vb 4.0.1 upgrade
Can a person with vb 4.0.1 upgrade to 4.2.1 no charge?
|
Do you have a vBulletin 3 license, or a vBulletin 4 license, or a vBulletin 5 license, that answer will let you know.
If you have a v Bulletin 3 license, unlikely. If you have a vBulletin 4 or 5 license, then yes. |

So, how was my response wrong? If you have a vB3 license, you'd be unlikely to get access to 4.2.1.
And I said exactly that, if you had a vB4 or vB5 license, you could, which is the same as the vBulletin team responded. PS, I am an Official member of the Support team, and have been for nearly a decade. |
I stand corrected. Thanks. I see you were the one tho answered me over there.
However, I do have a 3 license and I did go to 4.0.2. They just don't let you go all the way. It should be all or nothing in my opinion for what we pay. I'd just have stuck with my 3.x.x if I'd known that. I figured 4.0.2 as a step towards the final 4. Wrong again... I'd have to buy 5. Ain't happening... ...yet |
The terms of the vBulletin license agreement were that you'd have access to any versions of vBulletin released for the vBulletin Forum software, this included vBulletin 4.
When your license access expired, so did your ability to get newer versions of the software. |
