PHP Safe Mode
Can someone clear this up, on or off?!

Its up to you, its not needed.
Its also a deprecated feature, later releases of PhP dont have it. |

Yes, some vhosts have it on by default for security, but its not needed.

If you have it on, then you can't store avatars/attachments in the file system.
I've never had it on for any of my servers. |
I'd upgrade php version because its deprecated (so not needed) feature and newer php distrs dont have it.
Or just turn it off - it will do no harm. |
