vB Advanced CMPS alternative?
 
Is there a good replacement for the vBa CMPS plugin?

It hasn't been updated for vB 5, so I'm hoping something comparable exists.

I don't believe so, there is only 41 mods for vB5, https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=258 and 14 template modifications, https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=259
