Marking Threads by Topic Type
 

I manage a forum for business professionals who also like to post on personal topics. They don't want to separate business and personal into separate forums. I'd say most would like see all posts, but there are some who would like to only see business related topics.

I have a vision for how to solve this and haven't as yet found someone who's made a mod for it. What if in the create topic window there was a checkbox for "business" or radio button to select either personal or business. It would be a required field meaning new threads would be required to select an option. Then in the forum give users a button or link or add to Forum Tools or Search Forum menu a "View only Business Topics" option that would look for an only show topics with the "business" option turned on. Basically, a way to filter the threads by that "business" field.

Why not use Prefixes?
