Mass-Moving Threads
I am consolidating my forums. I believe I have over 100 today, and I'm looking to shave 30 off the list. I do not want to delete any threads, but rather, move them to a logical place.
There is no easy way to do this - right now I have to "select all" from EVERY page within a forum (some forums have scores of pages), then at the end, move those threads to a destination... repeat 30 times, and don't make any mistakes. I'd rather not do that (had started, and already made one mistake... and without tagging or prefixing, I have no easy way to reclaim those threads to put them in the right place). So can someone propose a DB string or set of strings that I could run, to do the following? 1) auto-set the thread prefix for every thread within a forum. (I'll ensure the proper prefix exists for both the origin forum, and the destination forum). 2) auto-tag all threads within a forum with a specific tag, or set of tags. 3) move ALL threads from forum x to forum y. Any help with any/all of the above would be much appreciated. |
There isn't another default method to do this. However, you could go to Site Builder > edit page > edit the Forum Module and set Topic Results per Page to something large while you are moving the threads.

Thanks for the tip Lynne - definitely helps.
