Status Icons

I tried searching, but could not find an answer. Anyhow, I want to change a bunch of icons on my site. I know that I can go in and just put new images with the same name in the same location, but there must be a "more professional way". Can someone please help?
Thanks,
Clay

You need to set a prefix in your forum manager for each forum e.g

For my forum rules I would place a prefix like this;

rules_

Then you upload your chosen status icon into your statusicon folder in your style and name them correctly starting with rules_

The icon url will then be similar to this -

Code:

www.yourdomain.com/images/styles/stylename/statusicon/rules_forum_new-48.png
and if you want a different icon for old it would be -

Code:

www.yourdomain.com/images/styles/stylename/statusicon/rules_forum_old-48.png
See attachment.

Ok. Thanks. I ended up only changing 4 icons (using the beginner method). If I were to do the profession method, what would happen in spots where there should be an icon, but a new icon was never made? Would it automatically revert to the old one, or would there just be a red x?
Thanks.

If you had the forum prefix set to a specific forum as above and you didn't add a status icon for old it would show a red x like you stated.
