Having a Form Going to an external action

I have this form:

Code:

<div style="width: 826px; height: 112px; background: url(http://www.finditforless.co.uk/images/4nsigbg.png) no-repeat scroll 0% 0% transparent; position: relative; z-index: 10;">
        <a href="http://www.finditforless.co.uk" style="display: block; position: absolute; width: 155px; height: 70px; text-indent: -9999px; overflow: hidden; z-index: 11; left: 21px; top: 17px;" title="Visit the Find It For Less Website!">Find It For Less</a>
        <div style="width: 615px; height: 55px;position: absolute; z-index: 12; left: 180px; top: 45px;">
                <form action="http://www.finditforless.co.uk/resultprocess1.php" id="finditforless" method="post" target="_blank">

                        <input id="searchterm" name="searchterm" style="height: 22px;width: 470px; position: absolute; top: 10px; float:left;
        padding: 10px;
        font-size: 22px;
        -moz-border-radius: 6px;
        border-radius: 6px;
        border-top-style: none;
        border-right-style: none;
        border-bottom-style: none;
        border-left-style: none;
        font-family: Geneva, Tahoma, Verdana;
        color: #666;" type="text" />

<button class="searchbtn" style="width: 125px; height: 42px; position: absolute; top: 10px; left: 505px;
        padding: 6px;
        font-size: 18px;
        -moz-border-radius: 6px;
        border-radius: 6px;
        border-top-style: none;
        border-right-style: none;
        border-bottom-style: none;
        border-left-style: none; float:left; text-align:center; ">Search Now!</button>
    </form>
        </div>
</div>

It displays fine but when I click submit it takes me to inlinemod.php rather than opening a new tab and working?

Your problem might be you have a form (yours) inside another form (the inline mod form in showthread?) When you do that it strips the form tags from the inner form. You will have to relocate your form outside the vB form.
