Looking for more streamlined image uploading...

I'm still on 3.8 and one of the most frustrating and antiquated aspects of VB is the "file manager." Has anyone made a mod that simplifies and streamlines the process of adding images to a post? An uploader similar to Facebook's would great... Any ideas? Suggestions?
