Moving Site Help-Questions-$$$

OK so we are trying to get our site moved from our current host to a new host which is our own VPS and we had to engadge pro services because we could not get it going. Our site currently sites on a Windows server and the VPS is a Linux server and after coping all the site files and directories to the new host and also downloading and importing the database and editing the config.php file for directory path we have the site loading however no CSS loads and when I click on any posts I get a error 500 message. We have not transfered our domain to the new host because we want to make sure the site is functional first before we point our domain name to the new server.

Just something to note we have VBSEO installed and we tried to disable it and remove the httpaccess file or just blank it out and still no go, no CSS loads or cant click any posts or threads without getting error 500. We have also tried to disable all plugins with no luck

Can anyone provide some things to check or fix to make this work, also if anyone has experaince with Linux VPS and wants to complete the migration we are willing to pay as long as the migration is completed no longer than 36 hours.

Thank You

You need to check the error_log or enable error display via php, one of those will tell you whats wrong.

Hi, it's important for you to note that you will not be able to use htaccess on the windows server. You do need the vbulletin to be able to do the vbseo rewrites.

What you should do is look in the vbseo folder (re-download it and look in that package) and use the included htaccess for the linux server or use the one in my guide listed in my sig.

Well at this point I'm not sure what to suggest to you other than trying a thread here
http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/forum...configuration/

It may wind up helping to resolve some of your issues.

I'm going to leave this up as you asked for advice but then near the end mentioned paying... in the future please post the last part (migration) as a paid request and simply link to it here etc.

Nothing at all, if anything it was borderline suggestive but I was not even sure of that so that's why I just picked w/ you slightly ;).

Glad to hear someone was able to help and yes in the future if you mention money place it in paid request otherwise simply ask for help for free to see if anyone is in a friendly and very helpful mood :D.
