idle time help

Hi guys I've seen on some forums u can idle forever I know u can increase the Cookies and HTTP Header Options but when the members do logout it will still show them online that length of time.

Is there a better way? An addon maybe?

How long someone shows up online is a setting - AdminCP > Settings > Options > Cookies > Session Timeout. Default is 900 seconds, or 15 minutes. I would strongly suggest not making that number too big as you could fill up your session table with sessions and then start getting database errors if it isn't cleared.

I'm just asking if the session time out is the only way to increase idle time & u think 45min ok?

Yes, that is the only way to increase the idle time and 45 minutes is probably fine if you aren't a really busy site.

The highest recommended for any site -- busy or not -- is 30 minutes, correct?
