How to make a custom home page similar to these sites?
 

Ok, I want to create a custom homepage that would pull the latest posts from specific sections and display them on the homepage with an image from the thread and a small description (something basically easily done in Wordpress).

Sites example I am talking about are -

myegy.com - a perfectly custom made homepage, perhaps a script.

http://www.vbiran.ir/maghalat.html - This is just perfect, they use the articles forum mod but It works so differently for them.

Please can someone guide me to make such a custom homepage which would pull the latest posts posted in the forum to the homepage? Thanks alot in advance! :D

Looks like VB CMS to me, have you looked at that ?

I'm looking for something similar to this, except it would be more like a directory to point users to different sections of the forum.

From what I've gathered, it looks like we would need someone to go in and write the code, then dump it into the homepage section (or "Home").
