Custom Usergroups
 

Heya, I've seen this done on another vBulletin forum and would be grateful if anyone has any idea how to do this or point me in the right direction.

Right, I'd like to set up a donation system were users will be put in a usergroup. Once they're in this usergroup, they'll just edit, for example, a custom field to put a hex code in. This hex code will then display as their username colour. So they're picking their own colour basically. I have a transparent userbar also, so it'll take that colour and turn it into a nice userbar (just in the background and the image overlapping it).

Any ideas how to do this?

Set up a profile field and include some preset colors (if you don't, then you users may enter invalid colors) and then create a plugin that changes the variable musername to this new colored username.
