Avatars broken after vb4 upgrade

Hey lads thanks again for help on previous thread this should hopefully be my last request for help.

Since updating to vb4 most of my users avatars are not showing up aswell as custom bb code images that i had and custom smilies that i would of uploaded over the years again some smilies are there and some are not

when i go to rebuild avatars i get the "unable to read avatar" in red writing

can anybody point me in the right direction ?

thanks in advance

Are avatars stored in the database or filesystem? Is the path correct?

For bbcode, check any urls/paths you have for any images you call.

For smilies, check Smilie Manager, edit a smilie, make sure the path is correct.

thanks for the reply Lynne, turns out my smilies were here there and everywhere i found most in the end again thanks, my bb code buttons couldnt be found so i just got new ones and out them in the path the forum wanted them

My avatars would of been uploaded by users through their user cp where would these of ended up ? they dont seem to be in any avatar folder on my server

They would be located wherever it says in Admincp > Avatars > User Picture Storage Type. That page will tell you if they are in the filesystem or database.

many thanks again Lynne I have gone to where you told me to and seen where the forum was saying they should be going customavatars,

but i reckon they should be going images/avatars and have told the forum to do this but it says "Invalid File Path Specified" despite this being an actual directory and there is avatars stored there currently

quite frankly i'm stumped lol

Is the directory chmod to 777? Try entering ./images/avatars

Dermo-MIO 03-05-2013 09:51 PM

hi Lynne yes sorry should of said i chmod'd all the folders to 777 thanks, i was succusful in getting it to change directory but this has now made all avatars broken, i reverted it back to /customavatars and their still broken just my luck lol

thanks again

Can we get a link to see the problem and view the broken path in firebug.
