Need some help with spam control.
 

Hey vb community,

I have been trying to block this user for several days and he has been spamming and advertising his site all over my forum and IP ban isn't helping at all. I came up with a solution to fix the issue which is by enabling email- verification but for some reason hotmail users are having issues with the email verification .Is anyone else having the same issue or is it just me? I tried asking some of my other friends and they told me that they are also having issues with hotmail users not recieving the verification email . I was just wondering if there is a solution for this issue?

Anyway , my vbulletin version is 4.2.0 Patch Level 3 .

If you install Glowhost Spam-O-Matic --> Auto-Moderation: Bad Words
adding some words associated with his site will cause those posts to go to Moderation.

I've tried censoring method and there are so many possible phrases that he can rephrase his site name up to that it is practically becoming almost impossible to censor.

For example : your site.com , y o ur sit e.com , y ou rsite.com e.t.c .

The only other thing I do is prevent posting clickable links to new users under something like 6 posts. Not much can do about the non-clickable ones like you posted. Unless you go and place all new users under Moderation for a certain amount of posts - maybe he will get bored after awhile - then you can go back to normal.

The links he posts aren't clickable either .
