vb.org Archive - Article Table not displayed in preview

I have an article I'm working on. It has an HTML table in it. When I turn on Full Display in Section Page it shows the table just fine but ignores the preview break, which I assume is by design.

But the article is quite large so I only want to show so much of the article before I want the user to click "Read More" however, when I turn off Full Display in Section Page it stops displaying the table that is above the preview break! There's even a paragraph of regular text after the table that IS being displayed...

I want to display the friggin table, so I put it above the preview break, yet it's not present in the preview?

What's up? Why won't it just show the content above the preview break without molesting it?
