Is it possible in vb3.8x to change the colors of inline links in posts without changing all the forum and thread navigation links?

It doesn't work. neither does .post_content

The message, itself, is included in the postbit by:

HTML Code:

<div id="post_message_$post[postid]">$post[message]</div>

You can try editing the postbit template to give that div a class, then try
MessageDivClassName a {}
