Forum being overrun by fake registrations
I am running vBulletin 3.8.4. Even though I am using the security and human verifications options within the software, my forum is being overrun by fake registrations. This has just started happening over the past couple months. I get dozens every night.
Does anybody know how to stop this? If possible, please put in plain English, as I am not an expert on vBulletin in the least. Thanks so much! |
Change your human verification question/answer to something else (i.e. a question relevant to your forums genre)
In your vbulletin options set registrations to be approved manually, by you. Require a unique email address. There are a couple mods here that help control spam registrations... can't think of them right now but do a search. |
You should upgrade to 3.8.7 for security reasons.
