Facebook Profile Picture with FB Login on Quick Reply Box
 

When I browse many non-vBulletin sites, I often see my Facebook picture on a reply area similar to vBulletin's Quick Reply box. That setup allows me as a Facebook user to easily join with my FB credentials and reply to a thread that I might have been led to by a search engine.

Is there any 4.x mod to accomplish this?

Generally, what you're seeing is one of two things. One is from Facebook's API, which is just Facebook comments in an iframe, essentially. The other is often a Disqus plugin.

Technically, vB already allows this if you tried to comment and your taken to a login page with the Facebook login button there. But that's less evident to a random visitor. Only thing I could think of is to include an FB login button near or around Quick Reply that's only visible to Guests. (Then again, I don't recall if QR can be made visible to Guests without allowing Unregistered Users to reply.)

I was unaware of the Disqus software but that seems to be what I've been seeing on other sites.

Maybe your suggestion of a FB login button near the Quick Reply box might be the best option for the time being. I just wish it could also include the Facebook profile picture.
