ChatBox with Customizable Name
 

Hey all,

I'm currently running an RP forum where most of our members have one or more characters that they write as. We have the VSa chatbox currently installed (highly recommend it for standard uses), however, now we're looking for something a little different -- an 'in-character' chat. If possible, we'd like to be able to have chat discussions as if we were speaking from our characters' perspectives. Problem is that the chatbox messages are linked to our usernames, rather than character names.

Does anyone know of a chatbox that allows customizing of chat names? Or perhaps one that doesn't automatically link to forum names?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

From what I know there is none out there all will use forum names it would be something that you would need coded

Yeah, that's pretty consistent with what I've found so far.

Any help on how to code it myself?

do you know php html?

I personally don't, no. But I'd do my best at figuring it out. If I struggle too much, I'll have another staff member handle it who is much more familiar with php html.
