Notifications

I'd like the ability to trigger a reputation notification whenever my script is run - my script makes changes to a users reputation via PHP/MySQL - works fine but without notifications.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to trigger a notification?

I believe if you set the newrepcount field in the user table, it will trigger the existing "New Reputation" notification.
