KH-MediaFlare Style Reviews

I've made a thread about our styles before, but we've changed a lot since then, so I wanted to start fresh.

Styles to Review:
  • Dance of the Dream Eater (Dark)
  • Dance of the Dream Eater (Light)
The dark version is the default, so just go to the Quick Style Chooser for the light version. If there are any problems, though, let me know, and I can provide a direct link to the light version.

Guests can pretty much view everything (threads, profiles, etc.), so be sure to look around everywhere. The only things they can't view are staff stuff (of course) and the member list, which I'm trying to figure out how to fix.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

We recently released 2.0 styles for our anniversary (August 30) on December 25 as a Christmas present and would appreciate some feedback on these as well.

Styles to Review:
  • Dance of the Dream Eater
  • KH-MediaFlare 2.0 (Dark)
  • KH-MediaFlare 2.0 (Lite)

Might be an idea to put a link to your site. Not everyone has signatures enabled ;)

Still looking for feedback. Please see post #2 for details. :)

Really clean theme! The only things I would change:

1. The top links background color (salmon seems random)
2. The document background image. This is a little distracting and takes away from an otherwise smooth theme.

Nice job!

Nice job!

Which of three styles up for review are you referring to?

Also, if you want to see stuff in more detail, I can allow access to a test account.

KH-Lite. The background for KH-Dark looks good to me! More subtle, easier on the eyes :) Dream Eater also looks really nice, smooth & professional. I would suggest a consistent logo throughout all of the themes, just for consistency/reliability

As for the top links, that can't really be controlled. toplinks_hilite_background controls the highlight color and also the login bar for guests.

I don't really think that having a consistent logo is necessarily a good idea on a forum like this. If it's for a business, then yes, consistency would be the best way to go. However, for a fan-based forum, I think users like seeing the different graphics instead of a single image.

For certain themes that coincide together, or dual themes, like the 2.0, then it's fine to have a single logo for both. But when you have a large variety of themes, making a new theme specifically for said theme would be more pleasant to the eyes. In some cases, the logo you would use for consistency wouldn't fit well with the theme you're using.

EDIT: I'm an admin on KH-Mediaflare.
