FaceBook Connect: Way For Custom Username
 

Hello,

I am seeing if maybe I have my settings off or if there is a way...

I have Facebook Connect enabled on my site, so everyone can sign in and create an account by signing in with the Facebook account. No issues there, sign ups work perfectly fine.

However, when they do this, their username because their name on their facebook page, aka...their real name. Is there a way so they can select a custom username to be affiliated with their facebook account name? So they can sign in with their facebook account, but have a custom username?

Hope this makes sense. I just think people will have an issue with not being able to create a custom username when signing in with their facebook accounts.

I don't think this is possible. The Facebook Connect API relies on the username and password matching.

What I was afraid of, would be nice if they could still login with their facebook but have a different username...

In AdminCP -> Settings -> Options -> Facebook Options

Set Enable Auto-Register to NO.

Then they should be able to change their username at the registration page.
