Problems with Category Icon in IE8

Hi there -

When our forums initially load in IE8 for a user who is not logged in, the icon next to a Category forum does not appear even though the icons next to the other forums do (see screen shot 1). When I log in, an icon appears, and when I log out again, a different icon icon (the one that was supposed to show up in the first place) appears. Is there any way to fix it such that a user loading the forum for the first time in IE8 sees all forum icons? Thanks!
