Turn Off Blog
 
I have been able to get control of spam bots on my message boards but not on the Blog Feature.
Is there a way to turn off the Blog and remove the button link? No one uses it except the spammers
I am tired of messing with it.

admincp/Plugins & Products/Manage Products then disable blogs
you could also make a new user group move all members to it and the registered members group make that so they dont have blog access and make a promotion so say members with x amount of posts are moved to new group. There are many ways you can stop them from posting in the blogs there are even some plugins for this
