AdSense between navbar rows

I would like to put an AdSense leaderboard between the first and the second rows of the navbar.

Tried editing the navbar template, but so far my edits have resulted in adsense being superimposed on top of the existing navbar selections.

Any idea where exactly the AdSense code should go?

P.S. Btw, the purpose of this exercise is to avoid the navbar triangle arrows pointing at the ad. Otherwise I would have been happy with the ad below the navbar.
