Categories collapse on ForumHome

HI. I was thinking: Why is it so that sidebar uses a nice animation to hide/revil but forum categories only jump and fall. As far as I can tell they both are using YUI. Can anyone please make that collapsing a little smoother? I'm really far from JS :(
