How to stop Users Awaiting Confirmation from making posts?

Users Awaiting Email Confirmation seem to be able to create threads and reply to threads and I don't seem to be able to stop it! :(

The usergroup settings are as follows:
Forum Viewing Permissions are set to yes only for:
Can View Forum
Can View Thread Content
Can View Others' Threads
The others are set to no.

Post / Thread Permission are ALL set to no
(as are Poll Permissions and Attachment positions).

I've checked in AdminCP> Forums and Moderators > Forum Permissions.

That's set to not allow them to post and yet they are posting in my forum and are able to create new threads.

Can anybody shed any light?

If the permissions are set correctly they shouldn''t be able to post and/or create threads. Can you double check them once again?

On a side note, what mods do you have installed btw?

I have checked this more than a couple of times. The last time I checked was about a month ago and I put it aside to work on later. I picked it up again today and went through it with a fine tooth comb.

vB version is 4.1.9 and the mods are ThankYou hack, GlowHost Spam-O-Matic, Enhanced Reputation Checks and Easy Forms, to answer your question.

I have created a new account just now and tried to post/start threads before verifying it. I get the expected error saying that I can't post.

This suggests the system is working correctly for most users but not for all. Fortunately in the two cases it has happened the user has turned out to be genuine user who went on to make several quality posts and no spam attempts (We have very sensitive nostrils for detecting spam). It would appear that they did not intend to circumvent the system.

Check the user group id of these users and make sure the id is the same number as Awaiting Email Confirmation user group also make sure they don't have a 2nd user group

They should not have any additional usergroups but I did check one of those users and she is in only the Awaiting Email Confirmation usergroup.

Where do I check the "usergroup id"?
