Parent forums in title tag for SHOWTHREAD and FORUMDISPLAY
I have a large game forum with many child forums.
PlayStation 3 > L >>Lego Harry Potter PlayStation Vita >L >>Lego Harry Potter The problem is this set up runs into a problem with Google for duplicate title tags. For example, the two different sections would have the same title tag (even though they are different discussion areas....google penalizes for this because vBulletin doesn't give enough description): FORUMDISPLAY: "L - BBTitle" for both sub-forums SHOWTHREAD: "Lego Harry Potter - BBTitle" for both sub-forums Is there any idea on how I can grab the parent forum and edit the title tag for these so they don't have duplicate title tags? Ideally I'd want: FORUMDISPLAY: "L > PlayStation 3 - BBTitle" FORUMDISPLAY: "L > PlayStation Vita - BBTitle" SHOWTHREAD: "Lego Harry Potter > L > PlayStation 3 - BBTitle" (the L doesn't necessarily need to be in there) SHOWTHREAD: "Lego Harry Potter > L > PlayStation Vita - BBTitle" (the L doesn't necessarily need to be in there) Maybe I'll have to create a custom plugin that matches the parent ID list and alters the title tag via JQuery or something. But I'm, wondering if anyone else solved this issue, as it's a pretty big deal IMO for not getting penalized by Google and just having better Title tags in general. |
