Questions regarding udtade from vB3 to vB4, help appreciated

OK big updates are always a very worrying issue when you have customized a website a lot. Just look at the vB version used by vb.org to see what I mean. Now that vB4 is starting to be a bit more established, it is time to look into the details of the issues that were still not resolved.

First issue is the design. I simply love default vB3 skin about as much as I hate vB4 default skin. :) So obviously my first question would be: is there a skin that will make vB4 look a bit more like vB3? This is a bigger issue than a lot of people think, changing the design so drastically has the potential to make a lot of users run away and I am surprised of that move from jelsoft. I can understand that a catchy new style can make a lot of old consumers interested in updating their license to look cool, but the problem is vB4 doesn't look cool at all, at least that is why I thought when I first saw it and what I'm still thinking.

Obviously the other issue (and reason I post on vB.org) is I use quite a number of add-ons and I am worried that some may no longer work. This mod for example won't work and was never updated for vB4. Here is the list of the mods I believe I should keep:

So what will I need to forget if I update?

Very many thanks in advance for your help, I love this community. :)

Some stuff from vB3 will work on vB4 without changes (usually things that don't involve templates). If you have a test board, upgrade it to vB4, replace all of the modifications that have versions for vB4 and see if anything else needs updating. If you don't have a test board, now would be a good time to set one up ;).

Don't know the answer to the style question, though.

For a vb3 style, how about this - https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...86#post2341186
