Contents of posts aren't being written to the DB
I am having a problem with my forum right now. When a person posts in a thread, there is a high chance that the content of the post will not make it to the database and the content is blank. This started happening around 1 PM yesterday. The only change that we had made around then is doing a yum update on our box. Is there any known issue that causes the absence of posts' body text?

There was an issue a few months ago where a version of PHP was released with an update to the PCRE library that had a bug. I believe it was PCRE 8.21 - I don't remember the version of php.

It's usually php 5.3, I believe. But yes, you will need to ask your host to either get the latest version of PCRE or to downgrade it to 8.20
