4.2 Activity Stream - Facebook Page

I have a Facebook Page. Currently when I make updates to my FB page I use an RSS feed to automatically post a new thread in my forum. Gets a bit noisy for the forum and is not ideal.

I would rather just have my FB Page updates get listed automatically in my vb Activity Stream along with everything else. When a user clicks the FB item, they go to that post on my FB page, and I'll stop the RSS feed.

Basically asking for a custom "Content Tracked" item in the Activity Stream admin CP.

Then I'd create unique style formatting in the Activity Feed to differentiate content from external sources.

That's not going to get done for free, you would be looking at paying someone for that.

who could build such a mod?

Can the OP post the URL of the facebook RSS feed?

Well, this is weird... I went to answer your question, but I don't remember how I originally set it up, so I looked into my settings. My RSS feed in vbulletin points to a feedburner URL that I apparently created. The Feedburner URL being leveraged for this feed (it's a FB page feed, not a profile feed) is http://www.facebook.com/feeds/page.php?id=[insert your page id# here]. I removed my particular # but that's the format. Weird thing is, when I try to go to that URL, I get this response:
Quote:

Format not supported.
This feed URL is no longer valid. Visit this page to find the new URL, if you have access
Yet my feed actually works. You can't explain that! :-)

To solve my "noise" issue I am now using the "RSS Feeds as Posts" mod, so that when my bot relays my FB page activity, it simply replies to an existing dedicated thread rather than creating a thread every time. It's working well.

Hi tonmo,
The 'weirdness' you are seeing, is the great mystery I am facing. I cannot get a facebook feed to work in my forum through the RSS Feed Manager. Other RSS feeds work fine, but not FB.

I am using this URL: http://www.facebook.com/feeds/page.p...60280077343698

I have tried a Feedburner URL, same problem. When I switch the format option to atom10, the feed works in an RSS reader, but still does not work in vB4.

If you have any suggestions, please let me know!
Thank you.
