Mass File Storage/Archiving
 

Hello,

I know files can be attached to threads, and stored in either the DB or filesystem—the usual forum functions.

But what about more robust file storage and sharing? Does a plugin exist for that? Ideally, I'd like...

1) Ability to upload hundreds (and maybe thousands) of files into categorized file storage areas;
2) Ability to tag files for find-by-browsing;
3) Ability to search files by name/tag;
4) Ability to hide/show files and filesets based on user roles.

Anything like that exist? Something like activeCollab's file storage/revision system would be dreamy, but I realize I'm asking for the stars...

I don't believe such a modification exists. You'd probably need to hire a coder to custom code such functionality. Good luck :)
